Brad O'Cuillean of the South Bend Diamond Jaxx proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Northern League Outstanding Hitter Award.
O'Cuillean hit for a .391 average while collecting 149 hits, 40 doubles, 4 triples, 16 home runs, 87 RBIs and scoring 71 times.

He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season James Spenser performed like a veteran on the hill for the Casa Conejo Dragons and walked away with the Northern League Outstanding Pitcher Award in the process.
The 21-year-old Dragons star fashioned a 15-10 won-loss record in 2011 with a 3.25 ERA. In 221.2 innings of work and 26 starts, Spenser struck out 247 while giving up 190 hits and 52 walks. He held opposing batters to a .225 average.
