Munich Border Cats. Sources close to the Tornados indicated that

Toronto with 22-year-old minor league center fielder
Regis Barberi and 26-year-old minor league starting pitcher
Ramón Caballero heading to
Munich. Neither organization would comment on the report, saying

II News: Draft Pool Revealed
Saturday, February 13th, 2010: Major League
Internet Baseball today released the final list of all players
eligible for next month's rookie draft. Now that the list has been
made official, close scrutiny of these players can be expected as
scouts begin to review this year's up and coming talent.
BNN has added to its Transactions page a section dedicated to the
draft pool, which will be available 30 days prior to draft day.

Monday, February 1st, 2010: It came down to
the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the
Windsor Wolfpack and
Edinburgh Kings finally came to an agreement on a trade that had
been rumored for weeks. The trade sends
Windsor's 24-year-old center fielder
José Romero to
Edinburgh in a swap for 29-year-old second baseman
David Burrell. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been
completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it
done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by
tomorrow.

Max Kingsley in return. A source close to the trade talks said
the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but
discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened
early today and eventually settled on this deal.
Cuyler has compiled a career batting average of .223 with 61
hits, 6 homers and 28 RBIs.

Beckan Barclet. Both teams expect to introduce their new players
at press conferences later in the week.
Since joining the league,
Goldsmith has compiled an ERA of 6.59 with a career record of

Gómez has collected no wins and 7 losses over his career with a
8.05 ERA. The 28-year-old hurler also has struck out 41 batters in
57 innings and allowed 83 hits.

Monday, February 1st, 2010: Speculation has
it that
Cleveland and
José Esparza are trying to flesh out a contract agreement that
would bring the 27-year-old closer into the fold.

León Ends Career Because of Injury
Monday, January 25th, 2010: "Baseball was my
dream. I just wish it could have lasted longer." Those were the sad
words of
Gander reliever
Álex León at his press conference announcing his retirement from
baseball.
León suffered a career-ending injury. He was forced to retire
because of a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. "Once this
year goes by, it will be a lot easier to deal with. This is going to
be a tough year, just sitting around and not being able to go out
there and do what I love." All the news is not bad though. The
18-year-old
León has accepted an administrative position with the Pilots.

to you," conceded Winsor. "When you take over a ballclub, you don't

SP Santos Settles on Indians
Friday, January 8th, 2010: Word of a huge
deal between
Pedro Santos and
Cleveland broke on BNN minutes before a deal was officially
announced.
The premiere starting pitcher will play for an estimated $25,690,000
per year. He is definitely capable of putting together big money
campaigns, which is exactly what the
Cleveland owners needed to enhance their portfolio.
The 33-year-old
Santos has sat down 173 batters on strikes, walked 89 and put up
a 4.36 ERA. His career won-lost record is 15-11.

II News: Rule 5 Draft
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009: Major League
Internet Baseball's Rule 5 draft will be held today. General
managers should ensure that they have made all necessary roster
moves prior to the start of the draft!
Rule 5 Draft Rules
--Only teams with empty slots on their expanded rosters can select a
player in the draft.
--Players with more than 3 years are eligible to be selected, unless
they are protected on a team's expanded roster.
--Players drafted at the age of 18 or younger are protected for one
additional year. They are eligible if they have more than 4 years of
professional service.
--Each selected player must be kept on the selecting team's major
league roster for the entire year, or be returned to his original
team.
--Even if a selected player is subsequently traded, he must remain
on that team's major league roster for the entire year.
Note: Eligible players are noted on the team transaction screen with
a "#" symbol.

II News: Free Agents File
Monday, November 30th, 2009: The opening day
of MLIB II free agency arrives today with a flurry of activity as
players file their paperwork to become free agents.
For the next several months, players and their prospective suitors
will be locked in fierce negotiations. Deals will come together,
fall apart and be resurrected again. Teams will fight to meet their
needs while staying within their budget. Throughout the process,
there will be second-guessing from fans and media alike. Even
players who remain under contract will keep an eye on things,
curious as to who will be sharing their locker room in the coming
season and whether that bodes well or ill for their own careers.
Months from now, when the free agency period has settled down, fans
will finally get a glimpse at the latest version of their team.

Firms Up Extension with Vista
Sunday, November 29th, 2009:
Panthers representatives confirm that they have reached a
contract settlement with
Daisuke Okada and that the 25-year-old starting pitcher will
stay on at Legends Ballpark for at least 2 years.
Since joining the league,
Okada has compiled an ERA of 4.01 with a career record of 15-8.
He has 176 strikeouts in 190.2 innings and has held opponents to a
.283 batting average.

Friday, November 27th, 2009: General
managers across Major League Internet Baseball will get a much
better idea of the size of their payrolls tomorrow as the league's
salary arbitration hearings get under way today. All players who
filed for arbitration, but who have yet to sign a new contract, will
have their cases ruled upon. The decisions will be announced
tomorrow.

for a Change: Oilers Tab Philipp as New GM
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009: Newly
appointed
Edmonton Oilers GM Keith "Driller" Philipp put in an all-nighter
yesterday, saying that he's got a lot of work to do and needs to get
settled quickly.
"I've done my homework. I've scouted this outfit. I want to be
here," he said in a radio interview. "These jobs aren't easy to get.
You've got to hit the ground running."

"Moneyball" McGuiness Named GM, Takes Control of Mob
Tuesday, November 24th, 2009: Life in
Vancouver has been eventful of late. On the heels of a front
office shakeup, the club has been pondering its future. Today, a
local radio station reported that a deal had been reached with John
"Moneyball" McGuiness to become the new Vancouver general manager.
"We've been leaning in this direction for a while now," admitted a
confidential source with the club, "But we had to evaluate all our
options before going ahead. McGuiness brings a fresh outlook to the
Mob organization."

Jr. Wins AL 2009 Outstanding Hitter Award
Friday, November 20th, 2009: The top
votegetter in this year's American League Outstanding Hitter Award
balloting was
Robert Rund Jr., the outstanding
Los Angeles shortstop.
He finished the season with a .364 batting average, 223 hits, 38
home runs, 162 RBIs, .435 OBP and 155 runs scored.

Friday, November 20th, 2009: What a way to
finish off the year -- being honored with the 2009 Outstanding
Hitter Award in the Canadian League. It had already been a very
special season for
Toronto's
Nap Lajoie, but today's announcement really put the icing on his
cake.
All season long
Nap Lajoie gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .380 as he
collected 243 hits, 50 doubles, 9 triples, 33 home runs and 149
RBIs.
